This laboratory provides a platform for students to make simple products/structures that are assigned by the subject lecturer. Materials that will be used to make the products/structures can be cardboards, foams, basel wood and/or other market available materials. Some small machining tools and devices will be located and also successful student projects, in the forms of prototypes and posters will be demonstrated, inside this laboratory. The spirit of having this laboratory is to cultivate students’ creative thinking and independent working abilities, the students have to design and build simple models by themselves. For an instance, a typical example adopted by most product engineering courses in Western universities, is to design and make a bridge using raw spaghettis.

Opening Hours

This laboratory will be open from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Within this period, the Department will assign a technician to look after the students in this laboratory. If the students need to use this laboratory after office hours, they can make a request to their programme leaders for a proper arrangement.
