About Hong Kong

Visitors to Hong Kong should hold a passport with at least six months' validity. And visitors from most countries can enter
Hong Kong without a visa for a period of 7 days to 180 days, depending on nationality. For more information on visa/entry permit requirements for visitors to Hong Kong, please visit the website of Hong Kong Immigration Department.

China Visa
Participants planning to travel to mainland China should make their own visa arrangement. China visa can be obtained through the Embassy of the People's Republic of China or an overseas China Travel Service branch in your country of residence. China visa can also be applied in Hong Kong at a branch office of China Travel Service (Hong Kong) Limited and normally takes three working days and one passport-sized photo. Details can be obtained from China Travel Service (HK) Limited.

Carry-on Baggage on Departure & Transit
Please note that enhanced security measures are now in effect at Hong Kong International Airport. When you leave Hong Kong, remember not to carry any sharp objects with a point or blade such as knives, cutters, scissors, razor blades, or household cutlery in your carry-on luggage. Pack them in check-in baggage. And restrictions also apply to carry-on liquids, gels and aerosols, which must be in containers no bigger than 100ml and placed in a single (maximum one per passenger) transparent re-sealable bag with a capacity not exceeding one litre. The Weather
During Autumn (October-December) in Hong Kong, there are pleasant breezes, plenty of sunshine and comfortable temperatures. Many people regard these as the best months of the year. However, as most lecture theatres, presentation rooms and public transportation systems are air-conditioned, please be sure to bring along a light long-sleeve jacket. More weather information is obtainable from  Hong Kong Observatory.

Transportation
Hong Kong is geographically compact and public transportation is efficient, relatively inexpensive and user friendly. Road signs in Hong Kong are generally bilingual in English and Chinese. More information on traveling by train or bus in Hong Kong can be available from Mass Transit Railway (MTR) and Kowloon Motor Bus (KMB) respectively.
