of Mechanical Engineering (ME) at PolyU.
ME
department is one of the founding departments
of PolyU since 1937. As one of the ivy disciplines
in engineering field, ME is always a pioneer
for the evolution of the Society with its contribution
to essential needs of the progress for new
energy system, transportation, space exploration,
health and biomedical systems and environment
improvement.
With
24 full time faculty members, we provide a
further education at different levels (HD,
BEng, BSc, MSc, MEng, MPhil, DEng and Ph.D)
over the large spectrum of ME topics including
product analysis and design, environmental
technology and transportation, aviation and
aeronautics, design and manufacturing, computer
aided engineering design. Through its network
for the international exchange, ME students
have a good opportunity to achieve one part
of their study in different partner institutions
located in North America, Europe, Asia and
Australia without any additional tuition fees.
This
website is designed for high school and university
students to suggest them the possible future
professional careers in the field of mechanical
engineering through different successful stories
from our alumni. With the introduction to computer
aided design tools and concurrent engineering
approach, the nature of job in product and
engineering design and managements has been
completely changed since the past decade. Besides,
in the worldwide trend, mechanical engineers
have been well recognized as a very popular
discipline for female students to show their
talents of creators of new products and project
management skills.
This
website is also a window for our research achievements
in different fields and their applications
through technology transfer projects and consultancy
activities. This valuable works were carried
out by about 80 research personnel in the Department
and our state of art equipments are illustrated
through the presentation of our 18 laboratories
and four focus research centres.
